Belle Epoque Unheated Burmese Sapphire Ring, 2.37 Carats
$29,000.00
Burma has been the source of some of the most celebrated sapphires in history, and this 2.37-carat stone shows why. Its blue is deep and saturated, and it has never been heated, so every bit of that color is natural. An SSEF report confirms both its Burmese origin and the absence of heat treatment. SSEF is one of the most respected gemological laboratories in the world.
Unheated Burmese sapphires of this size are rarely found, and they are even more rarely found in their original period setting. The ring dates from the Belle Époque, the elegant years around the turn of the twentieth century, when jewelers first began working in platinum. The strength of the new metal let them create delicate, refined designs that highlighted the center stone. A French platinum hallmark on the ring confirms its origin and metal.
